Holly (Bos) Martin

Holly Martin was born on June 27, 1964 to Clarence and Myrna (Richardson) Bos in Hawarden, Iowa.  She spent her childhood in Renner, South Dakota and graduated from Washington High School in 1982 with high honors.  Holly had a successful career in the banking industry as a loan processor.

Holly married Steve Martin in 1992 and moved to Allen, Texas where they shared their life together.

Holly was known around Renner as the leader of the “Holly Bos Girls” gang which included many adventures.  The childhood gang included two very special friends Darren and Jada Shatter who were also partners in crime.

Holly loved animals and had a knack for naming them all (including all farm animals).  After she found out that her favorite steer Clyde and two pigs Severt & Nels ended in demised in the freezer, she thought it best to stick with cats.

Holly enjoyed swimming in her pool and reading books on her pool floaty.  She loved to laugh and looked forward to spending time with her family, especially her nieces.

Grateful for sharing her life are her husband, Steve Martin, Allen, Texas, parents Clarence and Myrna Bos, Renner, sisters, Debbie Benson, Sioux City, Iowa, Dawn Howey (Lyle); Hartford, brother, Michael Bos, Sioux Falls; nieces Natalie Nielsen (Jake), Colman; Stephanie Thelen (Nate), Arlington; Sydnie Serrao (Ryan), Sioux Fall; Talia Benson, Sioux City; Hali Benson, Sioux City; friends that are like siblings, Darren Shatter, Denver, Colorado; and Jada McCann (Ted), Brandon; grandnieces and nephew Zaylie, Harper, and Roman.

Special thanks to Holly’s cousin Jerry Van Liere (Chiqui), Alamoqurdo, New Mexico.  Jerry was as close to Holly as a brother and they were with her in the hospital till the end.

Also, a big thank you to all our friends and neighbors for the help and support.

Memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Renner Lutheran Church, Renner.
