Vincent Lee “Vince” Myhre, 72, of Baltic died Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at his home of natural causes.
Memorial visitation will be from 5-7:00 PM Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at West Nidaros Lutheran Church, rural Crooks. Memorial services will begin at 10:00 AM Thursday, June 17, 2021, at West Nidaros Lutheran Church, rural Crooks. Interment will be in the South Dakota State Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Baltic Fire Department, Crooks Fire Department, or McCrossan Boys Ranch. The service will be live streamed at the West Nidaros Facebook & YouTube Page.
Vince was born August 8, 1948, at Tyler, Minnesota to parents Mandrup and Elienore (Ahlschlager) Myhre. He grew up in Minnesota and graduated from Balaton High School in 1966 where he played football and competed in high school rodeo. He then attended Staple Vo-tech for heavy equipment.
Vince was proud of his service in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Conflict. He served from 1968 until his honorable discharge in 1974. After his Navy service he was a truck driver for many years with Allied Exhaust Systems.
Vince loved hunting, fishing, and camping in his younger years. He loved riding his Harley Davidson and driving his collectible Thunderbirds. He also enjoyed buying and selling horses.
Grateful for having shared his life are his son, Todd (Crystal Christensen) Myhre, Crooks; his daughter, Jodi Myhre, Sioux Falls; grandson, Ben Myhre, Crooks; sisters: Delores (Doug) Swan, Balaton, and Pat (Les) Rinderknecht, Weed, NM; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister and brother-in-law, Beth and Duane Hasert.
