Thomas Olson

Thomas Olson passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at the Palisade Healthcare Center in Garretson, SD.

Tom was born on April 12, 1959 to Glenn and Marlus Olson. He moved with his family to Milbank, SD at the age of eight and attended elementary, junior high and high school in Milbank. He graduated from Milbank High School in 1977. He served in the Air Force for five years and then had various computer and construction jobs until 1998, when a tragic motorcycle accident caused quadriplegia. However, his positive attitude uplifted everyone he knew or met in the years to follow. His love and kindness will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include his daughter, Angela Olson, Pace, FL, his grandson, Zach Olson, his siblings: Robert Olson, Austin, TX, Richard (Eileen) Olson, Mandan, ND, Nancy Hemmingson, Eunice, NM, Mary Olson, Twin Falls, ID, Ann Olson, Howard, SD, Jane (Jeff) Ofstedal, Vergas, MN, David Olson, Rugby, ND, and Sue (Bill) Forbes, Paxton, NE, and many nieces and nephews.

Tom was preceded in death by his son, Andrew Olson, his father, Glenn Olson, his mother, Marlus Olson, and his sister, Ruth Ann Olson.

A private service will be held at a later date. 

Memorials should be sent to Tom’s favorite charity, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
