Ryan Mark Larson, 46, of Baltic passed away Sunday, May 12, 2019. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM Friday, May 17, 2019, at West Nidaros Lutheran Church, rural Crooks. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 PM Thursday, at the church.
Ryan, son of Wayne S. and Linda K. Larson of Baltic, was born in Dell Rapids on March 17, 1973. He was baptized and confirmed at West Nidaros. He received his education at Baltic and graduated from high school in 1991. He also attended SDSU and Mitchell Technical Institute where he received his Associates of Applied Sciences in Telecommunications. He worked at Alliance Communications until his death. He married Shelly Jansen at West Nidaros on September 24, 1994.
Ryan was a man of many talents which included hunting, farming, and the ability to build or fix anything. He had a gift for giving without a concern for a return. He found the love of his life in his wife for over 24 years, Shelly. They built a life of doing what they loved and spending time with family and friends. They made countless memories while spending time at Lake Poinsett, taking trips and going on countless adventures. Some of the most memorable were those that ended in a night of persuaded karaoke.
Ryan’s biggest and best adventure of all was becoming the father to their son, Sutton McCoy. He shared his love and passion for farming with Sutton…building from the years spent with his own father and brothers on their family farm.
Ryan is survived by his wife, Shelly, and their son, Sutton; parents, Wayne and Linda Larson; siblings: Darin (Connie) Larson and Louisa (Jade) Kvale; nieces: Madeline, Meredith and Lacey Larson, Elin and Nora Kvale; nephews: Grant Larson and Connor Kvale; Lacey and Grant’s mother, Julie Hammond; grandmother, Marilyn Johnson; aunts and uncles: Gloria (Dave) Mills, Kent (Cindy) Johnson, Wyn (Char) Johnson, Merrill (Jane) Larson, and Becky (Jim) Logue; 16 cousins; mother & father-in-law, Dorthy & Bob Krell; father-in-law, Arnold Jansen; sister-in-law, Stacy (Ryan) Palmer; brothers-in-law, Robbie (Shelly) Krell and Donnie (Sara) Krell; and nieces and nephews: Jordan (Mandy), Matt, Tanner, Taylor, Kenadee, and Karter .
Ryan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Grant and Olga Larson; grandfather, Cortland Johnson; uncle, Craig Johnson; and his twin brother, Randy Larson.
