Robert “Bob” McCormick, age 77, of Sioux Falls, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025, at Ava's House Hospice Care with family by his side. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 PM Thursday, February 27, 2025 at West Nidaros Lutheran Church, rural Crooks, followed by a Celebration of Life beginning at 7:00 PM. Bob was a dedicated truck driver, known for his hard work, reliability, and love for the open road. His career spanned many years, during which he took great pride in his work, and he became a part of the Million Mile club - one million miles with no accidents.
Beyond his profession, he found joy in the outdoors hunting with family and friends. Bob was also a car enthusiast who regularly attended car shows where he enjoyed a variety of vehicles, including new models, classic cars, and custom builds.
Another of his favorite pastimes was bowling. Whether it was a friendly game or a competitive match, he always brought enthusiasm and joy to the lanes, creating countless memories with those he loved. Everyone tried to score higher than Bob while wearing their “Beat Bob Bowling” shirts. There was even a traveling “Beat Bob Bowling” trophy that is still in use today.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Shirley, as well as his daughters, Aimee (Jason) Carls of Crooks and Crisse (Nathan) Meisenhelder of Colton; two grandchildren, Chase and Nolan Carls; sisters, MaryAnn Wise of Sioux Falls, Betty (Kevin) Peterson of Salem, and brother, Tim McCormick of Chicago, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Irene McCormick.
Bob will be remembered for his love of life, his sense of humor, and the time he spent with those around him.
