Peggy Swier, age 78 of Hartford, SD passed away Friday, August 13, 2021 at the Bethel Lutheran Home in Madison, SD.
Funeral services will take place at 11:00 AM Monday, August 16, 2021 at Faith Community Church in Colton, SD with Pastor Sam Gesch officiating. Burial will take place prior to the service at 10:15 AM at the Colton Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 15 th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with family present at the Faith Community Church in Colton.
Peggy Ann Van Kekerix was born in Chester, SD on November 29, 1942 to Harry and Florence Van Kekerix. She married Harold Swier on April 1, 1959 in Colton, SD. They farmed in the Colton area for 46 years.
Peggy loved flower gardening, baking, and cooking, trips to the Black Hills and spending time with her kids and grandkids. She was a very caring person and was always there to help when she saw a need. She always remembered to send cards and letters to friends and loved ones to let them know she was thinking of them.
Grateful for having shared her life is her husband, Harold; children, Dale, Joy, Karen (Ron) Van Heerde, Bev Tebbe, Lee, Fay (Tim) Ramstad; brothers, Darrel (Paulette) Van Kekerix, Dave (Arlene) Van Kekerix; 15 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two grandsons.
