On April 24 th , 2020 Pamela Ann Sorum, loving wife, mother and grandmother; was called to heaven at the age of 70 in the comfort of her home.
Pam was born on February 6, 1950 in Sioux Falls, SD to Joe and Geraldine (Brendsel) Aspaas. She was number seven of the “Aspaas Dirty Dozen”.
She grew up in Renner, SD and attended Baltic High School, where she met her high-school sweetheart; Thomas Sorum. They married on June 27, 1970. They built their life together on a farm in Renner; raising two children. Before retirement, she spent her working days with Wells Fargo, in customer service. She loved her job, probably because she’s one of the few who could deal with upset customers, she had a way with people.
When she wasn’t working, you would most likely find her enjoying one of her many hobbies. Traveling, golfing, dancing and making sure her grandchildren had plenty of Cheerios (with sugar of course).
She devoted her life to her children, and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed, her infectious smile and her ever so famous “shimmy” brought light to the darkest of places.
She leaves behind her loving family; including her husband, Thomas Sorum; one daughter, Jeri Jo Sorum (Dan); one son, Brett Sorum; three grandchildren; Cierra Sorum (Brady), Zeya Sorum, Chloey Sorum; one brother, Larry (Jane) Aspaas; seven sisters, Joann (Robert) Morgan; Shannon (Lyle) Mryan; D’One (Dennis) Riswold; Debra Garland; Sharol (Randall) Hill; Karol (Robert) Wallner and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Geraldine Aspaas; and four brothers, Keith Aspaas; Darrell Aspaas; Bobby Dean Aspaas; and Dan Aspaas.
Celebration of Life will be Saturday, August 8, 2020 from 1-4:00 PM at the Renner American Legion Hall, Renner, SD
