Linda Lou Beers, age 62, of Sioux Falls, formerly of Garretson, passed away from cancer on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Ava's House in Sioux Falls. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Garretson. Memorial visitation will begin one hour prior to the service.

Linda was born on December 17, 1955 at the Slayton Memorial Hospital in Slayton, Minnesota to John and Evelyn (Nord) Behrends. She graduated from Chandler-Lake Wilson High School in 1973, and from Canby Vo-Tech in 1975. On July 26, 1975, she married Kevin “Casey” Dale Beers at the Iona Presbyterian Church in Iona, Minnesota. The couple lived in Lake Wilson until moving to Garretson in 1980. Kevin passed away on July 27, 2005, and Linda moved to Sioux Falls later that year. She was employed at Fey Industries in Edgerton (1975-77), Palisade Manor Nursing Home in Garretson (1984), and finally at Citi as a Database Senior Specialist in the Customer Research Department (1985-2016).

Grateful for having shared her life is her daughter, Jessica Beers and her husband Jake Schlueter of Ellensburg, Washington; brothers, Rod (Eunice) Behrends of Worthington, and Ron Behrends of Slayton; brother-in-law, John Pellegrino; as well as several nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Kevin; and her sister, Gloria Pellegrino.
