Kathy Ann Bremer, age 72, of rural Colton, passed away on Monday, October 22, 2018, at her home. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 AM Friday, October 26, 2018, at First Lutheran Church, Colton. Interment will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Colton. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 PM Thursday, at the Minnehaha Funeral Chapel, Colton.

Kathy Ann was born in Hughes County to Bernard and Anna (Freier) Jerke on January 24, 1946. She grew up on a farm west of Scotland, South Dakota and attended school in Scotland. Kathy had various jobs throughout the years. She most recently worked at Tri-Valley School as a cook until she retired. Kathy kept busy in retirement with her many passions. She was an avid seamstress and made shirts for Kevin and repaired or altered anything that her family needed. She was a wonderful cook and loved gardening and raising flowers. She also enjoyed going camping and helping Kevin with his business and on the farm.

Grateful for having shared her life are her loving husband of 29 years, Kevin, Colton; children, Sheila (Bob Fleming) Van Zanten, Brandon, Michelle Bly, Dell Rapids, and Teresa (Stewart) Evans, Renner; three grandchildren: Shannon Van Zanten, Chad Van Zanten, and Jesse Bly; a brother, Wayne Jerke, Dell Rapids, brother-in-law, Brian Bremer; sister-in-law, Karen (Benjamin Parker) Burgers; niece, Dakota Parker; and three nephews and many cousins.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents; son, Shawn; and numerous aunts and uncles.
