We were blessed to have Joshua Haak Fox join our family on January 29, 1989 in Sioux Falls, SD. Joshua was the second of two children born to Judy and Juden Peterson III. Early in their childhood, Jamie and Joshua were adopted by Anthony (Tony) Fox and they built a home together in Sioux Falls, SD.
Joshua was an active boy that had a passion for skateboarding and playing soccer. He played on the Dakota Gold Club traveling soccer team for many years. The family spent time at Grandma and Grandpa Opland’s farm nearly every Sunday after church. There was always good times and great food. As he grew, Josh started to develop as an artist. He created beautiful works of art, drawing the front covers for his graduation invitations and cantata bulletins. He displayed his artistic talent in creating original and beautiful tattoos. His creative artistry is carved into his sister Jamie’s gravestone and another will be carved into his own.
Joshua graduated in 2008 from Lincoln High and Joe Foss High School. Since that time, he has held various jobs focusing on construction, dry wall and becoming and excellent painter. He recently started his own company, Fox Painting, and was working full time at Heiman Fire Equipment.
Joshua enjoyed spending time with his many friends and always had a quick smile for everyone. He recently purchased an RV where he lived and helped the owners of the River of the Double Bend Campground in Trent, SD. He enjoyed lazy afternoons floating down the Sioux River in a kayak or canoe. Josh also had a great time playing Frizbee Golf. His constant companion and best friend through good and bad times was his dog, Drake.
The love of his life was his daughter Felicity Bree Fox. Just a couple of weeks ago Felicity and her dad (Crazy Legs Josh) danced the night away at the Father-Daughter dance. He loved to dance and that Father Daughter dance was the best way to express his love of dance, life, and especially the love for his daughter.
Joshua ended this earthly dance and has reached his forever home. He is surrounded by those that have preceded him on the journey home, Grandpa Bennett and Grandma Connie Opland, cousins: Matt Haddican, Aaron Opland and Heath Knudson, biological father: Juden Peterson III, and his beloved sister: Jamie Con Fox.
Joshua is survived by his daughter Felicity Bree Fox, Mother, Judy Fox, and father, Anthony (Tony) Fox and many cousins, aunts and uncles.
