Joseph Isaac Schooler

August 25, 1985 — April 23, 2022

Joseph I. Schooler, age, 36 of Dell Rapids, SD died at his home in Dell Rapids, Saturday, April 23, 2022.

There will be a time of visitation with family present on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Minnehaha Funeral Home of Dell Rapids, SD.

Joseph Isaac Schooler was born August 25, 1985, in Portland, OR to Brian C. Schooler and Marie M. Paudois. He lived in Gold Hill, OR and attended Hanby Junior High School where he enjoyed playing many different sports. He also attended Dell Rapids High School after the family moved to Dell Rapids in 2000.

Joseph mostly worked construction, and for several years worked along with his dad, Brian at D & W Construction out of Ellis. He was very mechanically inclined and loved to work on many things, especially cars and bikes. He loved all outdoor activities, including building extra large campfires to gather with friends and family. His passion for music enabled him to play with friends in a band for a short time.

Just like his Dad and his brother Dave, Joe could have a room laughing from his great story telling abilities, but if you ask Joe, Dave was the funny one. He was a very caring person and always had a car part or two for his family and friends.

He is survived by his father, Brian C. Schooler of Dell Rapids, SD; mother, Marie M. Paudois of Gold Hill, OR; brother, David Schooler of Gold Hill, OR; half-brothers, Colt McQuade and Jordan Cox; grandfather, Newell Schooler of Gold Hill, OR; grandmother, Janice Carstensen of Dell Rapids, SD; and other extended family members.

His spirit lives on with all his closest friends and family!

Joseph is preceded in death by his brother, Johnathan Paudois.

A special note from Joe's father..

Dear God, I want to let you know, that my son Joseph is on his way to meet you.  And thank you Lord, for allowing us the honor, of sharing his life this last 36 years!  And Lord, when I was all that Joe had for guidance, well sir, that's what made Joe just a little rough around the edges.  But he knew right from wrong and had much respect for those around him!  Let's not forget how much he loved and cared for his grandma, his brother Dave and the rest of the family and all of his friends!  So Lord, please allow him to join you and all the beautiful souls in your fabulous kingdom!

And when he gets there Lord, you better watch out because he could break an anvil.  And Lord please tell him how much we love him and already miss him.

I love you Joe, thank you God. Amen!
