Joseph Cords, age 8, of Baltic, passed away on Friday morning at his home, after a courageous battle with brain cancer.
A Celebration of His Life will begin at 10:30 AM, Saturday, June 8, 2019, at Baltic Lutheran Church. A memorial visitation will be held from 5-7:00 PM Friday, at the Baltic School Commons.
Joseph Teagan Cords was born October 20, 2010, to parents Jason and Danea (Dahlquist) Cords in Jacksonville, North Carolina. He moved with his family to Sioux Falls, and then to Baltic in 2012. He just completed first grade at Baltic Elementary. The school held at Grade School Prom this spring and Joseph was crowned King.
As Joseph requested, he was baptized at his home by Pastor Randall Questad on Palm Sunday, April 14, 2019.
He loved being at school with his friends, YouTube singing, bird videos, video games, playing with Legos, and creating things.
Grateful for having shared his life are his parents, Jason and Danea Cords, Baltic; his sister, Kaylee; his grandparents, Judy Cords, Luverne, Minnesota, Alberta Williams, Hot Springs, Montana, Bill Good, Temecula, California, and Helen Dahlquist, Stevensville, Montana; aunts and uncles, Stacy Cords, Dawn Williams, Diana Williams, Albert Williams, Moses Williams, and Noah Williams; cousins, Aiden Ramey, Manuel Garcia Jr., and Mataya Garcia and many other relatives and friends.
The family requests guests to wear their Joseph’s shirts to the Visitation and Celebration of Life Service.
Joseph’s wishes were that everyone be happy and to celebrate his new life.
