Jonathan Stuart Paulsness

Jonathan “JP” Stuart Paulsness, age 29, of Baltic, died on Saturday, July 29, 2023, in Sioux Falls, as the result of a motorcycle accident. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 AM Friday, August 4, 2023, at East Nidaros Lutheran Church, rural Baltic. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:30-7:00 PM Thursday, at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Baltic. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Jonathan was born on August 23, 1993, in Sioux Falls, to Stuart and Michelle (Weeg) Paulsness. He grew up in Baltic and graduated from Baltic High School in 2012. He worked for T&R Contracting, Dakota Bodies in Watertown, and currently for LG Everist. Jonathan loved fishing, hunting, and kayaking. But most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends and being a great uncle to his nephews.

Survivors include his parents: Stuart and Michelle Paulsness, Baltic; brothers: Patrick Callahan, Sioux Falls, and Greg (Sasha) Callahan, Sioux Falls; nephews: Gabriel and Jameson Callahan; grandmother, Marjorie Weeg, Marion; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Gilbert and Agnes Paulsness, and Wayne Weeg; and an uncle, Mark Nealy.
