Jeff Hauck was born on September 2, 1972 in Yankton, South Dakota to John and Joyce Hauck.  Jeff grew up in Tabor, South Dakota and attended Tabor elementary school and Bon Homme High School.  He graduated from Bon Homme High School in 1991 and then attended South Dakota State University.  He acquired a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science in 1996 and a Masters of Science in 2003 at SDSU.  Jeff was employed for over 20 years at the EROS Data Center where he advanced to Senior Network Engineer.  On September 25th, 2004 Jeff married Cheryl (Fields) Hauck in Tabor.

Jeff was a simple, unassuming person while extraordinary all in one.  He battled through health scares one after another but never complained or asked for sympathy.  He showed extreme courage and resiliency to his close friends and family while he recovered through each of these life challenges.  His courage and positive attitude are what we will miss the most.

Jeff’s passions in life were his work, friends, family and his dogs.  He woke up every day looking forward to going to work and seeing his co-workers.  He formed life long bonds and friendships with his co-workers at EROS.  He had lunch with his best friend at work every day for over 20 years.  These simple things that most people take for granted is what motivated and inspired him.  Jeff formed life long bonds with friends that stretch back to high school and college, too many to mention.  He would travel with a close friend to Kansas City Royals and Minnesota Twins games each year.  He had two schitzu dogs named Snickers and Gizmo that he will miss greatly.

Jeff taught us how to make the most of each day.  He lived life in the way that most of us can only hope to do.  With humility, kindness and a sense of humor.  Our family continues to be in awe of just how many people love him.  In simply knowing him and his journey, our lives are blessed beyond measure.  We will spend our days remembering him and loving him until we meet again.

Love is patient, love is kind.  It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no records of wrongs.

We love you Jeff.

Jeff is survived by his parents John and Joyce (Pechous) Hauck from Tabor, two brothers Robert & Kristin Hauck from Indiana and Jay & Kelly Hauck from Texas, 3 niece and nephews Alison, Aidan & Alex, ex-wife Cheryl (Fields) Hauck from Sioux Falls.  Two of closest life long friends, Mike & Candice Rechtenbaugh from Sioux Falls and David & Yary Schelske from Florida.

He was preceded in death by his Grandparents, Emil & Marcella Pechous and Alfred & Hazel Hauck.
