Heaven received a special angel on April 10, 2018, when our beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother, Irene B. Froseth, age 98, passed away at the Palisade Healthcare Community in Garretson, South Dakota.
Irene was very well known in the Garretson Community. She was born on April 15, 1919. She married Gustav Froseth on January 27, 1939 in Garretson. She was a faithful servant of her Lord and attended St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.
Irene was a farm wife who loved gardening, woodworking and decorating. She had a magic touch with all the beautiful flowers and plants that she grew and helped others to grow. She was very artistic and creative. She worked in the Garretson City Offices and at Palisade Manor where, later, as a resident there, she spent many hours helping in the laundry and anywhere she was needed. She had a kind and gentle spirit and always put others before herself and helped anyone who needed her.
Irene is survived by three sons: Robert (Sue) Froseth, Bluff City, TN, David (Colleen) Froseth, Mobridge, and Duane (Kim) Froseth, Garretson; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; many loving great-great grandchildren; and a brother, Rodney (Dellene) Dubbelde, Sherman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Minnie (Schreurs) Dubbelde; husband, Gustav; son, Ronald; and siblings: Gertrude Dressen, Frank Dubbelde, Joe Dubbelde, Mabel Heinemann, Mary Dressen, Ted Dubbelde, and Harold Dubbelde.
She was a beautiful person inside and out. She was loved dearly by all her family and many friends and will be greatly missed.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 AM Friday, April 13, 2018, at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Garretson. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 PM Thursday, at the church, with a Prayer Service and Rosary beginning at 7:00 PM.
