VIEW LIVESTREAM OF CELEBRATION OF LIFE
Hannah Irene LaFave, age 22 months, passed away in her parents’ arms on August 21st, 2024 at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN after a lifelong battle with hypoplastic left heart syndrome. Hannah was born on October 20th, 2022 in Ann Arbor, MI to Allie (Thiesse) and Nicholas LaFave, joining big sister Eleanor.
Hannah radiated joy to everyone she met. Whether it was her infectious “Hi!” or lovingly shouting people’s names, she made people smile. Hannah loved to read with her big sister, watched Frozen on repeat, and sang along to music.
On any given day, you could catch Hannah relaxing with her arms behind her head and eating her favorite snack - a cheese stick. Despite her challenges, Hannah loved the simple things in life. Whether going for wagon rides, eating chocolate, or bugging her sister, Hannah did it with a smile.
Even though Hannah’s time on Earth was short, she made a huge impact everywhere she went. She taught medical professionals not to doubt her. She taught her parents how to advocate and never give up hope. She taught her big sister empathy and humor. Hannah taught everyone to never stop praying.
While devastated, her family is comforted in knowing she is free of medical lines and her heart is whole again with Jesus.
Services will be held at Lutheran Church of Dell Rapids at 2:00pm on September 14th. The family asks that all of those attending would wear Hannah’s favorite color, blue, or any other bright color to represent her joy.
In lieu of flowers or toys, the family requests memorials be made in Hannah’s honor to:
