Gleora "Gola" Peterson
June 24, 1922 — January 16, 2020
Gleora “Gola” Peterson, 97, of Colton passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Bethel Lutheran Home in Madison.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at St. Jacobs Lutheran Church, rural Colton, with burial in the St. Jacobs Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour before the service.
Gleora Selvena Severson was born on June 24, 1922 to Severt and Gina (Arneson) Severson. She married Henry Peterson on January 11, 1947. To this union two sons were born, Judson and Craig. She lived her entire life on the family farms near Buffalo Trading Post.
She was a lifetime member of St. Jacobs Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the ladies aid.
Gleora enjoyed the rural life, the outdoors, and carpentry. She loved music, dancing, and was a member of the St. Jacobs Kitchen Band playing the mandolin and banjo.
Grateful for having shared her life are sons, Judson and Craig, Colton; niece, Susan Main, Chester, nephew, Mark Acheson, Chester and Rita Peterson, Madison.
Gleora was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Henry, brother, Bud Severson, and sister Gladys Acheson.
