Elda Jane Irvine

Elda Jane Irvine, age 72, of Sioux Falls, formerly of Humboldt, passed away on Monday, January 28th, 2019, at Avera McKennan Hospital. A celebration of life will be held Saturday February 9th, 2019 from 4-7 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church in Tea, SD.

Elda was born on August 2nd, 1946 to Walter and Goldie (Shatter) Kropp. She grew up in Humboldt and graduated from Humboldt High School in 1964. She worked as a waitress at several different cafes. She married Dennis Richard Irvine on November 28th, 1964, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Humboldt.

Elda enjoyed baking and spending time with her family and friends. She had a creative hand with quilting/sewing and helped on countless clothing repairs. She enjoyed seeing the country and often talked about her times in the truck with her husband. On any given Friday/Saturday night you could find Elda on the dance floor of the VFW with Dennis doing a little two-step. But most of all, her love for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild was undeniable.

Survivors include her husband, Dennis of Sioux Falls; sons: Todd (Audra) Irvine and Tim (Kris) Irvine both of Tea; grandchildren: Austin (Lindsey) Irvine, Sioux Falls, Alex Irvine, Yankton, Hunter Irvine, Sioux Falls, Sara (Jason) Panek, Harrisburg, and Shelby Irvine, Tea; great granddaughter, McKinley Panek, Harrisburg; brother, Myron Kropp, Hartford; and sister, Delores Even Brown, Sioux Falls.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents: John and Anna (Wiese) Kropp and Jake & Sophia (Kirstern) Shatter; parents: Walter and Goldie (Shatter) Kropp; brother, Verlyn Kropp; and sister, Charlotte Kropp.
