Debra R. Fowlds

Debra R. Fowlds, age 71, of Sioux Falls, passed away at her home. Debra R Fowlds, daughter of Jack and Dorothy Vanderlinde, was born Aug 25th, 1950, in Watertown, SD. They later moved to Sioux Falls, SD where she grew up and attended school and graduated from Washington High School in 1968. She married Jerry Fowlds in Nov 1968 and they made their home in Sioux Falls and had two children.

She worked at Litton Microwave, Hutchinson Technology and Raven Industries throughout her years.

Anyone who knew Deb knew she was such a lover of animals and adored her cats. Her horse Cody was her true companion through high school and from there it just blossomed. Her kids have so many memories of the variety of domestic and wild animals she helped take care of and nurture.

Such a talent in the art of drawing and poetry she took up a job decorating cookies at the Cookie jar in Sioux Falls. Later moving to the acreage north of Hartford, SD, she was able to expand on her true love of animals by taking in horses and calves and raising and training them.

Jerry and Deb later divorced, and she moved back to Sioux Falls; living out her life with her cats and several small animals and birds.

Grateful for having shard her life are her mother Dorothy Vanderlinde; son, Darin (Dawn) Fowlds of Sioux Falls, SD; and daughter, Tammy (Eric) Heegel of Aubrey TX; her sisters: Jan (Dale) Hanson and Renea Spivey; grandchildren: Bryant Heegel of Lewisville TX, Corwin, Shanda and Cheston Fowlds all of Sioux Falls, SD; niece, Shannon (Alex) Meland of Moorhead MN; and a host of such close and personal friends during her years.

Deb was preceded in death by her father Jack Vanderlinde.

She wished to have no services and no burial but to only have her ashes spread with her cats.
