Darlene D. Leffring, 80, of Baltic died Sunday, March 4, 2018 at the Palisade Healthcare in Garretson.
Funeral services will begin at 10:30 AM Friday, March 9, 2018 at East Nidaros Lutheran Church, rural Baltic. Burial will be in the East Nidaros Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 PM Thursday, at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Baltic.
Darlene was born January 26, 1938 in Worthing, South Dakota to parents George and Luella (Ness) Ysbrand. She grew up there and attended school there. Darlene married William “Bill” Leffring July 30, 1955. They lived in Sioux Falls before moving to Baltic in 1967
Darlene started working for the Baltic School District in the kitchen, then drove bus for 32 years, retiring in 2004. She also enjoyed taking tickets at basketball games, but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors are her children, Mark Leffring, Tim (June) Leffring and Todd Leffring, all of Sioux Falls, Janet (Larry Hemmer) Raaen and James (Kim) Leffring, both of Baltic, and Darla (Orion) Thompson, Custer; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; her brothers, Jerome Ysbrand, Worthing and James Ysbrand, Dallas, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bill, daughter, Joan, and son, Paul.
Memorial may be directed to the Baltic Fire Department, East Nidaros Lutheran Church or the Baltic School District.
