Carole Ann Carlson
October 27, 1945 — January 29, 2019
Carole Ann Carlson, age 73, of Renner, passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at her home. Memorial services will begin at 10:30 AM Saturday, February 2, 2019, at Renner Lutheran Church, Renner, South Dakota. Memorial visitation will be from 5-7:00 PM Friday, at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Renner Lutheran Church, or the Parkinson’s Foundation.
Carole was born on October 27, 1945 in Sioux Falls, to Dennis and Johanna Marie (Severson) Johnson. She grew up two miles east of Crooks, graduated from Lyons High School in 1963, and attended Nettleton College. She worked for IMT Insurance following her education. On September 26, 1970, she married George Carlson at Renner Lutheran Church. After their marriage they lived north of Sioux Falls until building their new home near Morefield in 1973. Carole raised her children and later worked for Norwest Bank/Wells Fargo.
Carole was a very active member of Renner Lutheran Church where she volunteered in many activities. She enjoyed bicycling, watching movies, reading and having coffee with her friends. But most of all, she enjoyed time spent with family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, George of Renner; children: Eric (Beth) Carlson and their children, Milo, Ada, and Aleta, of Crooks; Anne (David) Ruppert of Anna, TX; siblings: Bob Johnson of Crooks, Gary (Gloria) Johnson of Colorado Springs, CO, and Deanna (Roger) Hebbert of Longmont, CO. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dennis and Marie Johnson.
