Burdette R. Miller, 94, of Sioux Falls formerly of Colton died Sunday, March 3, 2019 at USD Sanford Medical Center.
Funeral services will begin at 2:00 PM Thursday, March 7, 2019 at the United Methodist Church, Colton. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Burial will be in the Colton Cemetery.
Burdette was born February 3, 1925 in Sioux Falls to parents Floyd and Margaret (Schaffer) Miller. He attended country school and graduated from Lyons High School. He entered the United States Army in 1944 and served during World War II and was discharged in 1946 at the rank of Sergeant.
Burdette married Pearl Voelker June 4, 1947 in Sioux Falls. They lived and farm near Colton for 40 years. He then was employed by Taylor Oil Company retiring in 1991.
Burdette was a member of the Colton United Methodist Church and the Colton American Legion.
Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Pearl, Sioux Falls; a brother, Dwight Miller, Port Washington, Wisconsin, a sister Floy Carter, Seattle, Washington and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Harold.
