Barbara C. Erickson, age 78, of rural Garretson, passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at her home.  Memorial visitation will be from 1-3:00 PM Saturday, October 13, 2018, at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Garretson. Interment will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Garretson.

Barb was born on July 2, 1940 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Orvel B. and LaVonne J. (Rupp) Swenson. As her father was serving in the military, Barb moved extensively and attended 17 different schools before 7 ^th grade. She lived in Lawton, Oklahoma, Colorado Springs, Colorado, Anchorage, Alaska, Sioux Falls, and finally moved to Garretson in 1984. She married Dan Callihan in 1966 at Leesville, Louisiana. Barb worked for L.G. Everist from 1975 to 1999 as a computer programmer and later as Information System Manager. She married Larry Erickson on August 10, 1984 in Garretson.

Barb was a member of the DP Managers Association and the Garretson American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 23. She enjoyed being outdoors, riding horses, reading, gardening, and working on computers.

Barb is survived by her husband, Larry, Garretson; children: Beverly Callihan, Sioux Falls, Devlin (Kim) Callihan, and Lonn Erickson, Garretson; grandchildren: Samantha, Mitchell, and Emily; and one great-grandchild, Zayden. She was preceded in death by her mother in 1985, and father in 2005.
