Barb was born December 17, 1959 to parents Henry and Bernice (VanderVliet) Vink. She grew up in the Colton area and graduated from Tri-Valley High School in 1978. On June 30, 1979 Barb married Dennis Christensen at First Reformed Church in Colton. After their marriage they lived in Crooks and were blessed with 3 children. She worked for Citibank for 33 years until her retirement in 2021. She worked and excelled in many departments and areas in the bank.
Barb was a member of the First Reformed Church and the Dakota Heritage Corn pickers. She enjoyed being involved with her children and grandchildren's events. Barb was a ‘jack of all trades’ which included sewing, cake decorating, baking, scrapbooking, and much more. Barb enjoyed sharing her talents with her grandchildren at any chance she had. She also unselfishly shared her talents with others and never asked for anything in return.
Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Dennis, Crooks; children, Tammy (Justin) Nelson, Madison, Duran, Crooks, Marie (Cody) Burggraff, Vermillion; 4 grandchildren, Landon & Lucas Nelson, Harper & Dawson Burggraff; siblings, Bonnie (Ivan) Van Duyn, MT. Vernon, WA; Betty (Warren) Oberg, Colton, Howard (Ranae) Vink, Colton, Julie (Jeff) Sarver, Oostburg, WI; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Bernice Vink, a brother, Harold, sister, Harriet, and brother-in-law, Lowell.
