Elvena Leucile Schroeder

Elvena Schroeder, 83, of Dell Rapids, formerly from Pipestone, Minnesota passed away Friday, May 9, 2008 at Terrace Manor Nursing Home in Dell Rapids.

Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at Minnehaha Funeral Home Chapel in Dell Rapids.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday, May 12, 2008 at Minnehaha Funeral Home in Dell Rapids.

Interment will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Elvena was born August 25, 1924 in Island Lake Township, Lyon County, Minnesota to parents Cyril and Lotti (Wellstive) Van Lerberghe.

Elvena toughly enjoyed nature. She especially liked fishing, gardening, and feeding the birds and squirrels. In her younger years, she played the organ. She was the proud owner of three organs.

Grateful for having shared her life are her children, Lee and his wife Mary Jo Schroeder, Delland, Florida; Roger and his wife Krystal Schroeder, Bloomington, Minnesota; Harold Schroeder, Slayton, Minnesota; Carol Fisher, Prior Lake, Minnesota; Linda and her husband Terry Patterson, Bloomington, Minnesota; Ramona and her husband Ed Rattler, Pipestone, Minnesota; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Irene Topel; Gladys Johnson; and Mert White.

Elvena was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Fredrick Schroeder.
