Eva M. Bucher

March 31, 1916 — February 24, 2008

Eva M. Bucher, 91, of Garretson died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2008 at Palisade Manor in Garretson. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 am Friday, Feb. 29, 2008 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Garretson. Burial will be in the St. Michael Cemetery, Sioux Falls. Visitation with the family present will begin at 6:00 pm Thursday with a Wake Service at 7:00 pm at the church.

Eva Marie was born March 31, 1916 at Delmont, South Dakota to parents Richard M. and Lula Belle (Harrison) Scott. She grew up in the Armour-Delmont area and later moved with her family to White Lake, South Dakota where she graduated from White Lake High School in 1933.


Eva married Clifford Bucher November 30, 1939 in Garretson, where they farmed. Clifford died December 11, 1987. Eva continued to live on the farm until 2000.
Eva was a member of the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and the St. Rose Altar Society. She was creative with wood and enjoyed gardening and her flowers.


Grateful for having shared her life are her children; Dale, Sioux Falls; Lyle, Viborg; Clint (Marlys), Excelsior, MN; LaVonne Bendt, Sioux Falls, and Steve (Donna), Plankinton; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a brother, Jack Scott, Dallas, TX; three sisters, Margaret Harris, Sioux Falls; Edna Thomas, Kimball; Betty Lou Hossle, Mitchell; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford in 1987.
