Alice Heikes

Alice (Geerdes) Heikes, age 78, of Brandon, SD, passed away quietly in her home, Monday, June 30.

Alice was born January 20, 1930 to Dick and Helen Geerdes of George, Iowa. She was the youngest of four children and went on to become a schoolteacher, wife, and mother of 7. She will be most remembered for her role of care giver for fifty-five years for her daughter, Sharlyn. She was also a highly skilled gardener. She is survived by two sons, Mahlon, of Greeley Colorado, and Darwin (Caryla) of Sioux Falls, two daughters, Lori (Mike) Tolzin, Brandon and Kris (Brad) Hicks, Sioux Falls, and a sister, Helen Fiihr, of George, Iowa. 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Her daughters Sharlyn and Lynette, and a son, Kevin, preceded her in death.

Private family services will be held.
