Stanley Falconer, 98, of Sioux Falls formerly of Lake Preston died Sunday, April 29, 2007 at Covington Heights in Sioux Falls. Memorial services will begin at 2:00 pm Thursday, May 3, 2007 at West Nidaros Lutheran Church, rural Crooks. Interment of cremated remains will begin at 11:00 A.M. Friday in the Lake Preston Cemetery.

Stanley was born November 11, 1908 at Nolan, South Dakota to parents Harry and Lulu (Stephenson) Falconer. He grew up and farmed in the Lake Whitewood. Stanley married Arlene Weiss December 6, 1945 in Bancroft, South Dakota. They continued to farm until moving into Lake Preston in 1960. Arlene died August 17, 1993.

Stanley always loved to raise a large garden and give away whatever he did not keep. He liked to help people whenever he could. He enjoyed going dancing at least 3 times a week.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years, the United Christ of Christ in Lake Preston and the Toastmasters.

Survivors include a special friend, Rita Wagner, Sioux Falls; two sons, Dale Falconer and his special friend, Estelle, Sun City, AZ, and Leo (Phyllis) Falconer, Lyons, SD; two daughters, Donna (Carroll) Poppen, Rochester, MN; and Effie (Chuck) McDonald, Perry Hall, MD; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and two brothers, Floyd Falconer, Albertville, AL and Roy Falconer, Castle Rock, CO.

He was preceded in death by his wife Arlene on August 17, 1993, a daughter, Judy; a sister Vesta, and two brothers, Ray and Weldon.
