Robert Herman Gregersen

Robert "Bob" Gregersen, 79, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, October 18, 2008.

Funeral services will begin at 2:00 PM Friday, October 24, 2008 at Willow Creek Lutheran Church, rural Dell Rapids. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM Thursday, October 23, 2008 with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Minnehaha Funeral Home in Dell Rapids.

Bob was born on July 3, 1929 in Hartford, SD to George and Maren (Nielsen) Gregersen. He was a Korean War Veteran serving as a Sergeant in the 11th Engineering Division from 1951 to 1953. He returned home to farm in the Dell Rapids area, where he enjoyed watching things grow. He married Juanita Liebig in Huron, SD on May 31, 1959.

Bob was a member of Willow Creek Lutheran Church where he served on the church council, cemetery board, and as a deacon and trustee. He was a member of the Baltic American Legion. He also served on the Burke Township board. Bob bowled on the Willow Creek bowling team, enjoyed restoring tractors, golfing with friends and spending time with his grandchildren.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Juanita; children, Vicki (Nader) Tomasbi of Elkhart, IN and Linda (Jeff) Legault of Middlebury, IN; grandchildren, Cameron, Sheila and Sara Tomasbi and Grant and Colin Legault; sister, Lillian Heemstra of Hartford, SD; many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Alice and Doris Albers and his brother, Lester Gregersen.
