Fred Raymond Thiel

Fred Thiel, age 55, of Sherman, passed away on January 28, 2009, at his home. Memorial services will begin at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Garretson, with a memorial visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M.


Fred was born on March 24, 1953, at Stillwater, Minnesota. He grew up in the Twin Cities area and attended high school in Minnetonka. After high school, he lived in Denver, Colorado, Fresno, California, and Minneapolis, Minnesota. In August of 2000, Fred moved to Sherman, South Dakota, with his wife Brenda Ann (Schoenrock).


While living in Sherman, Fred worked at Gateway, Esurance and Wells Fargo in Sioux Falls. Fred had a great interest in hunting, shooting and gunsmithing. He loved to talk and visit with people and was a good storyteller. He was also great with animals, which included his beloved dogs.


Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Ann Thiel of Sherman; good friends, Barry and Tracey Eberhard of Humboldt; and his dogs, Big Bud, Maize, Madison and Fargo.
