Harold Milton Odde

June 14, 1918 — October 2, 2009

Harold M. Odde, 91, of Dell Rapids died Friday, October 2, 2009 at the Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at Willow Creek Lutheran Church, rural Dell Rapids. Burial will be in the Willow Creek Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2:00 PM Monday with the family present from 6-8:00 PM at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Dell Rapids.

Harold was born June 14, 1918 to parents John and Minnie (Sundem) Odde near Ellis.
He was baptized in Sioux Falls and confirmed at Willow Creek Lutheran Church. At the age of 13 he and his family moved to the family farm west of Dell Rapids where he currently resided. On October 16, 1943 he married Arlene Berg at Willow Creek Lutheran Church. To this union a daughter Carol was born. Harold loved the farm, living in the country, John Deere tractors and gardening. Arlene died October 12, 1981. Our memory will always be his love of the Lord and his quiet gentle ways. Even after his illness he continued his positive spirit.

Harold married Myrtle Fuglsby December 17, 1982 at First Lutheran Church in Sherman and continued to live on the farm.

Grateful for having shared his life are is wife, Myrtle, Dell Rapids; a daughter, Carol (Glen) Krogstad, Colton; three grandchildren, Kelly (Jolynn) Krogstad, Dell Rapids; Loren (Joddy Reimer) Krogstad, Renton, Washington; Angie (David) Keith, Pierre; five great grandchildren, Jordan and Miranda Krogstad, Abby, Emma and Beau Keith; five step children, Marsha (LeRoy) Uecker, Parachute, Colorado; Susan (Dan) Schumacher, Canton; Robert (Mary) Fuglsby, Garretson; James (Penny) Fuglsby, Sioux Falls; Dale (Vicki) Fuglsby, Sioux Falls; seventeen step grandchildren; nine step great grandchildren; a sister Helen Stansell, Dell Rapids; numerous nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Arlene, three sisters, Ann Zubke, Ruth Elverson and Evelyn Sittig.
