Beverly J. Hanson

Beverly J. Hanson, 80, of Crooks died Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at her home after a long illness.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Friday, February 27, 2009 at Benton Lutheran Church, rural Crooks. Burial will be in the Benton Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be from 5-7:00 PM Thursday, February 26, 2009 at the church.

Beverly was born June 3, 1928 to Martin and Hannah (Severson) Magness near Chester. She grew up in the Chester area and attended Chester School and graduated from Chester High School in 1946. She then attended the South Dakota Beauty Academy.

Beverly married Harvey Hanson November 9, 1947 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Chester. They lived and farmed near Crooks until retiring into Crooks in 2004.
She enjoyed fishing at the lake, having a big garden and raising flowers.

She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church and was long time member of Benton Lutheran Church.

Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Harvey, Crooks; a daughter, Jackie Johnson and her husband Jim, Crooks; a son, Randy Hanson, Crooks; three grandchildren, Megan (Derek) Kindelspire, Reid Johnson and Shari (Clint) Jenner, great grandson Carson Jenner; a sister, Bonnie Limmer, Sioux Falls; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Marvel and a brother Marland.
