Ronald Dale Remme

Ronald D. Remme, age 77, of Jasper, Minnesota, passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2009, at Sanford Health in Sioux Falls.

Funeral services will begin at 1:30 P.M. Monday March 2, 2009, at Palisade Lutheran Church, rural Garretson, Rock County, Minnesota. Visitation will be from 3-5:00 P.M. Sunday at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Garretson, South Dakota.

Ronald was born on October 26, 1931, at Sherman, South Dakota to Harold and Junie (Edmundson) Remme. He was baptized and confirmed at Palisade Lutheran Church in rural Rock County, Minnesota. He attended school in Sherman and graduated from Garretson High School. Following his graduation, Ron farmed with his dad until enlisting the U.S. Army in 1953. Following his discharge in 1955, he began milking cows and later raised beef cattle. On September 8, 1957, Ron married Beverly Scott in Sioux Falls. They spent most of their life on their farm outside of Sherman in Rock County, Minnesota.

Ron was a lifetime member of Palisade Lutheran Church, where he served on church boards. He was a member of the Garretson Elevator Board, Jasper Rural Fire Board and the Garretson American Legion. Ron also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Bev of Jasper; children: Scott Remme of Camden, New Jersey and Connie (Alvin) Scholten of Sioux Falls; brother, Junell (June) Remme of Motley, Minnesota and sisters: Janet (Wilbur) Anderson of Rochester, Minnesota and Ruby (Paul) Julson of Garretson.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
