Rachael Berdella Williamson

Rachael B. Williamson, 84, of Garretson, died on Wednesday, January 7, 2009, at Sanford Luverne Hospital in Luverne, Minnesota. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, January 10, 2009, at Zion Lutheran Church, Garretson. Visitation will begin at 4:00 P.M. Friday, with the family present from 6-8:00 P.M. at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Garretson.


Rachael was born on February 13, 1924 in Rock County, Minnesota to Neddie and Bertha (Bly) Pearson. She lived on a farm in the Garretson/Sherman area and graduated from Sherman High School. On June 27, 1942, Rachael married Clinton Jordahl. Following Clinton’s service in the military, they settled in Garretson. Clinton died on May 8, 1977. Rachael married Perry Williamson on March 25, 1999. Perry died on February 15, 2005.


Rachael was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church and a faithful volunteer at Palisade Manor. But most importantly, she was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother.

Rachael is survived by her children: Cheryle (Kent) Wenck, Cherokee, IA; Joel (Deb) Jordahl, Eagan, MN; Jon (Julie) Jordahl, Dubuque, IA and Beverly (LeRoy Mehlbrech) Hardin, Commerce City, CO; grandchildren: Kristin (Troy) Constantineau, Carrie (Michael) Smith, Jennifer Jordahl, Laura (Manfred) Alvarado and Lisa Jordahl; a step-grandson, Jay Wentzel; five great grandchildren; step-children: Robert (D’Lisa) Williamson and Jane (Lee) Hurlbert; step-daughter-in-law, Dorothy Williamson, step-son-in-law, Randy Slobe; and numerous step-grandchildren and a step-great-grandchild.

Rachael was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clinton; son, Dale; husband, Perry; brother, Wesley Pearson; infant sister, Rhoda; sister, Joyce Pribyl; and step-children, Ron Williamson and Peggy Slobe.
