Gene Crow

Gene Crow, 63, of rural Sherman passed away Friday, July 24, 2009 at his home after losing his courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family and friends.

Funeral services will begin at 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Dell Rapids.

Visitation with the family present will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday at the Minnehaha Funeral Home in Dell Rapids.

Gene was born to Ann and Eugene Crow on August 29, 1945 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. The family moved to Chandler, Arizona when Gene was five years old. His early years were spent in Oklahoma and Arizona.

Gene married Debbie Ann Schwebach in October of 1978. They resided in Arizona, Oklahoma and South Dakota. In 1985 they settled in Dell Rapids with their daughters. Gene was a general all around handyman, working as a steel fabricator for various companies in Sioux Falls. Currently he was employed by the Dell Rapids School District as a Bus Maintenance Supervisor.

Gene enjoyed the great outdoors and spending time with his family and friends.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Debbie Schwebach Crow, Sherman; two daughters, Crystal Ann (Brad) Kansanback and their son, Wade, Colman and Shanna (Brian Mosley) Crow and their daughter, RaeJean, Sherman; two brothers, Donald (Donna) Crow, AZ and Bobby (Debbie) Crow, AZ; two sisters, Cletta Barrett, AZ and Shirley (Jim) McKenney, AZ and numerous other relatives and special friends.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents and brother, David.
