Laverne Anderson

LaVerne Anderson, 82, of Sioux Falls, formerly of Trent, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2007. Memorial services will begin at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at Trent Baptist Church. Private family interment will be in Nelson Cemetery, rural Trent.

LaVerne was born May 29, 1924 in Irene, SD to parents Martin and Viola (Falstead) Fodness. She grew up in several communities in Eastern South Dakota. She married Alvin Anderson July 26, 1945 at First Baptist Church in Dell Rapids, SD. The couple farmed east of Trent until 1996 when they moved to Dell Rapids and later to Sioux Falls.

LaVerne enjoyed china painting, quilting, embroidering, knitting, gardening, flowers, and bird watching as well as spending time with family and friends.

LaVerne passed away Sunday, May 6, 2007 at Sanford Health Hospice in Sioux Falls at the age of 82.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Alvin Anderson, Flandreau, SD; sons, Alvin Anderson, Jr. and his wife Barb, Flandreau, SD and Ronnie Anderson and his wife Robyn, Sioux Falls, SD; daughter, Linda and her husband Dennis Austin, Dell Rapids, SD; five grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Esther Lamping, Sioux Falls, SD; Violet Sankovich, Sioux Falls, SD; Delores Moe, Dell Rapids, SD; Roslyn McClaren, Sioux Falls, SD; Dorothy and her husband Gary Anderson, Stanchfield, MN; and Shirley and her husband Bob Ellefson, Ankeny, IA.

LaVerne was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, an infant; Audrey; and Geraldine.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Union Gospel Mission in Sioux Falls, SD.
