Lois Margaret Edmundson

Lois Margaret Edmundson, age 90, of Brandon, formerly of Garretson, passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at Avera-McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, April 14, 2007 at Palisade Lutheran Church, rural Rock County, Minnesota. Visitation will begin at 2:00 P.M. Friday, April 13, 2007, with the family present from 5-7:00 P.M. at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Garretson.

Lois was born on June 27, 1916 to Martin and Myrtle (Bogenreif) Julson on the Graham Farm in rural Rock County, Minnesota. She grew up south of Garretson and attended country school and later graduated from Garretson High School where she was crowned Homecoming Queen her senior year. She then attended beauty school in Sioux Falls.

Lois married Arnold B. Edmundson on December 19, 1935 in Sioux Falls. After their marriage they lived and farmed south of Garretson before purchasing the farm that she was born on. They farmed there until Arnold's death on September 17, 1984. Lois continued to live on the farm until moving to Garretson in 1991. In December of 2006 she moved to Bethany Meadows in Brandon.

Lois was an active lifetime member of Palisade Lutheran Church and the Palisade Lutheran WELCA in rural Rock County, Minnesota. For many years she took part in 4-H when her children were members of the Springwater Hustlers. She was also active in the Palisade Manor Auxiliary and Garretson Senior Citizens.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, Shirley and David Williamson of Louisville, Kentucky; Paul and Lona Edmundson of Sioux Falls; and Sally and Jeffrey Alger of Lakeville, Minnesota; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1984 and her son, Steven Jon on November 1, 1961.
