Margaret Oines

Margaret Oines, 90, of Sioux Falls formerly of Baltic died, Monday, April 21, 2008 at Avera McKennan Hospital. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Friday, April 25, 2008 at Baltic Lutheran Church, Baltic. Burial will be in the St. Olaf Cemetery, rural Baltic. Visitation with the family present will be from 6-8:00 PM Thursday at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Baltic.

Margaret was born June 23, 1917 at Rock Valley, Iowa to parents Henry and Augusta (Decoyer) Van Den Hemel. She moved with her family at the age of nine months to Ramona, South Dakota. She worked as an LPN at the Madison Community Hospital, McKennan Hospital and in Cheyenne, Wyoming for many years. Margaret married Adolph Oines September 22, 1947 in Ortonville, Minnesota. Adolph died January 24, 1998. After his death she continued living in Baltic until moving to Sioux Falls two years ago.

Grateful for having shared her life are a daughter, Beverly Heitman, Sioux Falls; six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, nine great great grandchildren; a son in law and his wife, Clair and Lori Darger, Sioux Falls; a sister, Dorothy Wendler, West Concord, Minnesota; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Shirley Christian, a great grandson, Jesse Thompson; two sons in law, William Heitman and Leonard Christian, and several brothers and sisters.
