Virgil D. Page, 83, of Colton passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at Avera McKennan surrounded by his loving family. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 am Saturday, March 8, 2008 at the Taopi Community Hall, Colton. Burial will be in the St. Michael Cemetery, Sioux Falls. Visitation with the family present will be from 5:30 to 7:30 pm on Friday at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Colton.

Virgil was born on April 14, 1924 to Leo and Miriam Page in Foley, SD. Virgil served in the US Navy as a Carpenter’s Mate Third Class. After leaving the Navy he moved to Sioux Falls and was employed as an auto mechanic. He married Donna Reiter June 7, 1947. They moved to a farm near Henry in 1952. They farmed in the Henry area until 1965 when they moved to a farm near Colton. They farmed until Virgil retired in 1994 and moved into Colton.

Virgil is survived by his wife Donna, Colton; sons, Jerry (Diana) Page, Brookings; Dale (Rhonda) Page, Colton; Gary (Sue) Page, Columbia, Maryland; daughters, Gail DeJong, Colton; and Sue (Tom) Fields, Sioux Falls; 18 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; two brothers, Glen Page, Auburn, WA; Gene Page, Watertown; three sisters, Carol Monteith, Donna Arbogast, and Leone Olson, all of Watertown.

His parents, son Edward, and son in law, Pete DeJong brothers, Vern Page and Bill Page, and a sister Joyce Pearson preceded him in death.
