Ralph Kenneth Edwards

Ralph K. Edwards, 86, of Brookings died Saturday, June 14, 2008 at the Avera Dougherty Hospice. Services will begin at 7:00 PM Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Colton. Burial will be in the Colton Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Avera Hospice Memorial Fund.

Ralph was born February 21, 1922 at Bancroft, SD to parents Glenn and Pearl (Olfson) Edwards. As a small child he moved with his parents to Lyons and graduated from Lyons High School. He then attended Accountanting School. Ralph married Marilyn Warner July 21, 1951 in Jackson, Michigan. They lived in Michigan for two years before moving to Colton. Ralph worked as an accountant for International Harvester Company, Case Company, and then Case International in Colton and then Brookings. They have lived in Brookings since 1971. Ralph enjoyed bowling.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Marilyn Edwards, Brookings; a sister, Thelma “Sweet” Devaney, Sun City, CA; special nephews, Curt & Penny Warner and their children, Lancing, MI; Robert & Joanne Nelson and family, Colton; and a host of other relatives and friends.
