Gladys Louise Mesch 76, of Sioux Falls passed away peacefully, Saturday, August 9, 2008 at Avera Dougherty Hospice surrounded by her family.
Funeral service will begin at 10:00 AM Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at Willow Creek Lutheran Church, rural Dell Rapids. Burial will be in the Willow Creek Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be from 6-8:00 PM Tuesday at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Baltic.
Gladys Louise Mesch was born October 8, 1931 in Sioux Falls to parents Thomas and Tilda (Sundal) Hanson. She grew up on a farm west of Dell Rapids and graduated from Lyons High School in 1949.
Gladys married Richard Mesch, a navy sailor on, July 26, 1958, while working at Farley Letcher Insurance Company in Sioux Falls. The military brought the couple to Kansas, California and then to South Dakota.
Gladys was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother. Her relationship with the Lord and her church was a lifetime commitment.
Grateful for having shard her life are her husband, Richard “Dick” Mesch, Sioux Falls; her children and their spouses, Belinda and Stephen Broadus, El Paso, Texas; Mark and Sherilyn Mesch, Sioux Falls; Brian Mesch and Jennie Braaten, Sioux Falls; Kimberly and Steven Hegdahl, Sioux Falls; five grandchildren; a great grandchild; three brothers and her wives, Marvin and Ruby Hanson, Dell Rapids; Arnold and Merna Hanson and Richard and Sally Nelson, all of Sioux Falls; two sisters and their husbands, Delores and Harold Simkins and Esther and Charles Hanson, all of Sioux Falls, and many other relatives and friends.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Robert.
