Luetta C. Qualseth, 84, of Colton died Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at Good Samaritan Luther Manor.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM Friday, August 15, 2008 at First Lutheran Church, Colton. Burial will be in the Colton Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be from 6-8:00 PM Thursday at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Colton.
Luetta was born January 22, 1924 at Colton to parents Leoanrd and Clara (Moen) Amundson. She grew up east of Colton and attended the Hamre Country School and Colton High School. Luetta married Cameron “Jiggs” Qualseth June 4, 1943 at Luverne, Minnesota. After their marriage they farmed near Colton until Jigg’s death on July 27, 1989. She moved into Colton before moving to Sioux Falls in 2004 to live with her daughter. In 2005 she moved to the Colton Assisted Living and in 2007 to Luther Manor.
Luetta was baptized and confirmed at Willow Creek Lutheran Church and was a member of First Lutheran Church in Colton where she was active in the ladies aid and the quilting group. She enjoyed bowling, was an excellent seamstress and truly enjoyed watching her grandchildren.
Grateful for having shared her life are her daughter, Diane Wullstein and her husband Dan, Sioux Falls; her grandchildren and their spouses, Tom and Jennifer Wullstein, Brandon; Laura and Chad Schuldt, Sioux Falls her great grandchildren, Danika, Jeremiah, and Andrew Schuldt, and Emma Wullstein; a brother and his wife, Lloyal “Bud” and Shirley Amundson, Dell Rapids, numerous nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
