Georgine L. Stoltenberg

Georgine L. (Hasert-Chiodi) Stoltenberg, 79 of Garretson died Saturday, July 23, 2007 at Avera McKennan Hospital. A Prayer Service was held 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 23, 2007 at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Garretson. Visitation was from 5-7:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral Home. Burial was in the Summit Hill Cemetery, near Garretson.

Georgine was born November 17, 1927 in Garretson to parents Frank and Signa (Erlandson) Hasert. She grew up in Garretson and graduated from Garretson High School in 1945. After graduation she moved to Hibbing, Minnesota and worked as a waitress. She married Domonic Chiodi November 1, 1947 in Hibbing, Minnesota. In 1960 she moved to Garretson and worked at the Red Owl Store. She later owned and operated a cafe in Brandon and worked at the Brandon VFW. She retired in 1975.

Georgine married Delbert Stoltenberg June 21, 1975 at Hills, Minnesota. After their marriage they lived in the Garretson-Brandon area. Delbert died in 1988.

She was a member of the United Church of Garretson.

Georgine is survived by her children, Joanne Stratmeyer and her husband Ernie of Worthing, South Dakota; David A. Chiodi, Volin, South Dakota; Phillip J. Chiodi and his wife Cindy, Sioux Falls; five grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Georgine was preceded in death by her husband Delbert, her parents, Frank and Signa Hasert, a brother, Melvin Hasert, and a sister, Dorothy Aaker.

She will be missed greatly by her family and friends.
