Jean Eva Catherine Sando

Jean Sando, 76, of Colton died Thursday, September 30, 2010 at her home after a short illness.

Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM Monday, October 4, 2010 at First Lutheran Church, Colton. Burial will be at the St. Ansgar Cemetery, rural Colton. Visitation will be from 2-5:00 PM Sunday at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Colton.

Jean Eva Catherine Williams was born July 3, 1934 to parents Kenneth and Veva (Ericcson) Williams at Canova, South Dakota. As a small child she lived in the Howard-Canova area and later moved to Colton, where she graduated from Colton High School.
Jean married Orllo Sando on April 12, 1953 at First Lutheran Church in Colton. After their marriage she farmed with her husband near Colton.

Jean was a member of the First Lutheran Church and the WECLA. Her joy in life was her family, especially her grandchildren.

Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Orllo, Colton; a daughter, Susan (Leo) Ross, Colton; a son, Robert (Cristy) Sando, Colton; four grandchildren, William Ross, Daniel (Sarah) Ross, Seth Sando and Holly Sando; four sisters, Maxine Williams and friend Marjorie Phillips, Watertwon; Ruth Davis and Pauline (Bruce) Harberth, both of Sioux Falls; Grace (Lloyd) Rowland, Vermillion; a special cousin, Janet Robson, Madison and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers in law, Merton Sando and Herman Davis.
