Dennis L. Husman

April 11, 1943 — December 24, 2006

Dennis Husman, 63 of Baltic died Sunday, December 24, 2006 at Good Samaritan Center in Sioux Falls. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM Thursday, December 28, 2006 at Baltic Lutheran Church, Baltic. Burial will be in the East Nidaros Lutheran Cemetery, rural Baltic. Visitation will begin at 2:00 PM Wednesday at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Baltic.

Dennis was born April 11, 1943 to parents Lawrence and Ruth (Wagner) Husman in Beresford, South Dakota. He grew up in the Canton area and graduated from Canton High School. On August 21, 1964 he married Betty Brown near Sioux Falls. After their marriage they lived in Harrisburg until 1968, when they moved to Baltic.

Denny worked at Cenex Service in Baltic, Hiland Potato Chip Company in Sioux Falls, Bauer Warehouse in Sioux Falls and then for Sunderman Manufacturing in Baltic before ill health forced his retirement.

Denny was a member of the Baltic Lutheran Church and was a former member of the Baltic Volunteer Fire Department. Denny also enjoyed NASCAR Racing, camping and fishing with his family and he loved to talk.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife Betty, Baltic; his sons and their wives, Jay and Vickie Husman, Hartford; Tom and Cathy Husman, Brandon; a grandson, Allan Urban, Sioux Falls; a special family, Dawn and Mike Norton and their children, Michelle & Logan, Sioux City, Iowa his father, Lawrence Husman, Lennox; four brothers, Roger Husman and his wife Sharon, Madison; Donald Husman and his wife Barb, Sioux Falls; Russell Husman, Fremont, California; Jerome Husman, Davis; two sisters, Judy Edberg and her husband Glenn, Yankton; Jessie Lunning and her husband Loren, Centerville; his mother in law, Jacoba Brown, Sioux Falls; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, James, his mother, Ruth, and his father in law Arleigh Brown. Special thanks to Steve & Deb Gunderson and Myron Nohava.
