Paul Telman Moe

Paul T. Moe, 84, of Dell Rapids passed away December 29, 2006. Memorial services will begin at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at The Lutheran Church of Dell Rapids. Interment will be at Black Hills National Cemetery at a later date. Visitation with the family will follow the memorial service.

Paul was born February 1, 1922 to parents Jens and Enga (Vik) Moe in Moody County, South Dakota. He attended country school for eight years and graduated from Trent High School. Paul enlisted in the U.S. Navel Air Corps in 1942 and was honorably discharged in 1946. He then enrolled in Barber College in 1947 and started his barbering career in 1948 in Dell Rapids.

Paul married Delores Fodness on September 4, 1949. Paul was a member of George A. Fitzgerald American Legion Post No. 65 for over 55 years, past treasurer of the Dell Rapids School Board, a member of The Lutheran Church of Dell Rapids, and one of the founders of the Sportsman’s Club. His hobbies included woodworking, building,hunting,fishing,and gardening.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Delores, Dell Rapids; three daughters, Sherry and her husband, Gerald Hirmer, Olathe, Kansas; Laurel and her husband, Gary Lamb, Dell Rapids; Pamela Moe and Bob Schwebach, Sioux Falls; two sons, Paul Moe and his wife, Cheryl, Sioux Falls; James Moe and his wife, Wendy, Sioux Falls; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Lilly Page, Sioux Falls; and many other relatives and friends.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and two brothers.
