Marian L. Meyer

Marian L. Meyer, 89, of Dell Rapids formerly of Baltic died Friday, July 23, 2010 at Terrace Manor in Dell Rapids.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Monday, July 26, 2010 at the United Methodist Church, Dell Rapids. Burial will be in the Colton Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be 5-7:00 PM Sunday, July 25, 2010 at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Dell Rapids.

Marian was born January 20, 1921 at Gary South Dakota to parents William and Anna (Johnke) Kock. She grew up in the Gary area. Marian married Alvin Meyer November 16, 1940 in Lyon County, Iowa. After their marriage they farmed near Hartford. They later lived in Colton and after Alvin retired they moved to Baltic in 1983. Alvin died December 21, 2003. Marian moved to the Colton Assisted Living Center and later to Terrace Manor.

Marian was an active member of the United Methodist Church and Ladies Aid. She enjoyed fishing with her husband and being around her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Grateful for having shared her life are her children, Sharon (Kirby) Nelson, St. James, MN; Carol (Jim) Krosch, Brewster, MN; Mary Meyer, Cleveland, MN; and Alvin “Bud” (Dawn) Meyer, Baltic; 16 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; a brother, Alvin (Lola) Kock, Omaha, NE.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four brothers, a sister, two great grandsons, Justen Green and Joshua Nelson.
