Lawrence “Larry” White, 81, of Baltic died Friday, Dec. 8, 2006 at his home of natural causes. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 AM Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at First Congregational Church in Sioux Falls. Burial will be in the Norway Cemetery, rural Garretson. Visitation with family present will be from 6-8:00 PM Monday at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Baltic.

Lawrence was born April 7, 1925 on the family farm near Montrose to parents, Guy and Emma (Albertson) White. He grew up in the Montrose and Humboldt area and graduated from Humboldt High School in 1943. After his education he served in the United States Navy during the end of World War II. After his discharge he worked for Paul Sorenson, John Morrell and Company, and the Great Lakes Pipeline.
He also worked as a paint contractor with his brother Butch at White Brothers. Larry married Audrey Berdahl on July 22, 1951 at Zion Lutheran Church in Garretson. They lived in Sioux Falls for ten years before moving to a farm near Baltic in 1971. He raised mink and registered sheep and later worked at EROS.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Audrey, Baltic; three sons, Terry (Linda) White, Auburn, WA; Larry (Sue) White, St. Roberts, MO; Loren White, Graham, WA; two daughters, Linda (Ken) Demuth, Sioux Falls; Tammy Pokos, Crooks; eleven grandchildren; a brother, Robert (Ruth) White, Montrose; three sisters, June (Wesley) Webster, Hanna, WY, Donna (Vernon) Arends and Sharon Ellis, all of Sioux Falls. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Marion “Butch” White, and a son in law Brett Pokos, a brother in law Donald Ellis
