Jeff Raymond Garry

Jeff Garry, age 51, of Sioux Falls, passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at his home. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 5, 2007 at Zion Lutheran Church, Garretson with interment in the church cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be from 1:00-4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 4, 2007 at Minnehaha Funeral Home, Garretson.

Jeff Garry was born on January 12, 1956 in Mitchell, South Dakota to Gerald and Genevieve (Roling) Garry. He moved to Garretson, South Dakota as a small child and graduated from Garretson High School in 1974. He attended South Dakota State University and graduated in 1978. Jeff then obtained a Master’s Degree in 1981 from the University of South Dakota.

On August 26, 1978, Jeff married Julie Johnson of Garretson. They lived near Renner for three years until moving to Sioux Falls in 1981. Jeff was director of Sports Wear at Ravens Industries for twenty years. He then founded Outdoor Gear Inc. in Sioux Falls where he served as President and CEO.

Jeff was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls and served on the National Board of Directors for Snow Sports Industries of America.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Julie, Sioux Falls; two sons: Adam Garry of Sioux Falls and his fiancée, Jen Walton and her three children, Jack, Tate, and LouLu; and John Garry of Fort Collins, CO; his parents, Gerald & Genevieve “Toots” Garry, Garretson; six siblings and their spouses: Roger & Linda Garry, Bennington, NE; Robert & Shirley Garry, Sioux Falls, SD; Mary & Don Frerk, Garretson; Mark & Shirley Garry, Garretson; Jerome & Elaine Garry, Madison; Susie & Jeff Weber, Sioux Falls; a brother-in-law, Jeff Johnson and his wife, Alice, New London, MN; father-in-law, Don Johnson, Garretson; eighteen nieces and nephews; and ten great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Sybel Johnson.
