Donald K. Thulin, 87, of Valley Springs died Thursday, October 28, 2010 at Covington Heights Care Center.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 30, 2010 at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Garretson. Visitation with the family present will be one hour before the service at the funeral home.
Donald was born June 13, 1923 on the family farm near Valley Springs to parents Ray and Amanda (Thorvaldson) Thulin. He was raised on a farm near Valley Springs, where he farmed with his dad and brother. He later moved into Valley Springs with his parents. He worked at various businesses in Valley Springs until his retirement.
Donald enjoyed spending time with his family and also his friends in Valley Springs and Flandreau. Donald spent many hours outside enjoying the sunshine.
Survivors include his sister, Doris Larson, Sioux Falls, a brother in law, Harry Benson, Crooks and two nieces, Arlene Fersdahl and Bonnie Stenfani; two nephews, Kenny Benson and Darryll Larson; nine great nieces and nephews; eighteen great great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Louise Benson, a brother, Raymond Thulin, and his brother in law, Clarence “Shorty” Larson.
